From a young age, and long before they ever join your family, puppies and dogs already know how to sit, walk, run, lie down, eat, drink, sleep. They also know how to jump, scratch, dig, bite, chew, bark, whine, go to the bathroom, and carry things in their mouths (i.e. steal!). What puppies and dogs don't know is English, and where owners need is help in getting their puppies and dogs to behave well in a variety of situations and circumstances.

In our Level 1 class, we teach owners, through a reward-based program, how to bridge this communication gap and how to get their dogs to understand commands for several good-manners behaviors: pay attention, sit, come, lie down, stay, walk nicely on leash, leave it, be quiet, keep your feet on the floor, wait patiently at the door. We also show people how and when to use gentle discipline for times when rewards alone don't get the desired result.

Dogs from ages 10 weeks to 10 years and beyond are eligible for this class, and it's a great place to start whether you want a well-mannered pet, a therapy dog, a competition canine, or something in the middle.
